My third visit to a Gothic Bar Heaven event at Club Crawl this year. Like many other Artism.jp parties it was a small-scale “live house” event with several bands presenting their music and DJs performing between the shows. Again, I had been invited by my friend Nekoi from Psydoll who were scheduled to play. Other bands of the evening included Ethereal Sin, Zwecklos and Mr. Chaos.
After having missed the belly dancers, the first band I saw was a solo artist called Mr. Chaos. For someone named Mr. Chaos he gave a very tame performance…

The music was techno-influenced electro with Japanese lyrics.

The second act was the Japanese industrial band Zwecklos. I must say that after their very first performance in July they visibly improved their stage presence — they were less nervous and the audience loved their powerful show.
Bass player and programmer Takuya was also singing this time.
Singer Ageha was very scary looking as ususal.

Next came Psydoll with the singer Nekoi. They have been very active the last few months and this was my fourth time this year I saw them live.

The last musical performance was quite a surprise. The Japanese black metal band Ethereal Sin did an outstanding show dressed in black leather. Founded in 1997, they have gone through many changes, including the latest replacement of their rhythm guitarist just this month.

Finally, it was a pleasure again to shoot the local goth crowd. Many dress up in elaborate outfits just to see the shows and meet their friends. Which is pretty cool, I think.
